Pentax K10D Review

Pentax K10D is a nice middle range 10 Megapixel camera with an image stabilization sensor built in to prevent shaky pictures. The D10d was launched in September 2006 and has a lot of impressive features. Some of these features were unique. We can start with the image stabilization feature. They have followed Sony on that by using counteract wobbles. But the shake reduction used on the Pentax model uses additional support system on the x and y axes. Plus, there is a shake free feature for dust and other particles. That has helped a lot of photographers reach their goals.

Not to mention the fact that the camera has weather seals that can prove to be most advantageous.

Besides the normal shooting modes, this model has a sensitivity priority, plus aperture and shutter modes, also with priority. In this way you can select the degree of sensitivity you want to apply to each indicator. Adjustments are what make a picture perfect and Pentax knows that. Setting the lower and upper ISO limits in the Auto mode can also help you do great pictures.

Besides that, K10D offers you the possibility to choose from 2 completely different RAW formats: Adobe DNG and Pentax PEF. It also has support for internal RAW processing. Not to mention the fact that the RAW button helps you a lot.

The 2.5in color monitor is also amazing. These impressive features have made K10D a well sold model that is actively competing against giants like Nikon D80 and Canon EOS 30D. Nikon D80 remains the strongest rival on many levels. Many people, before deciding to purchase, compare the two models and then buy. They judge the look, the features, and the characteristics.

These are some of the features that may or may not convince you to get a Pentax K10D.
