Pentax Digital Cameras

Pentax is one popular brand in the world of digital cameras. The brand belongs to Hoya Corporation. The one that founded the company was named Kumao Kajiwara and he did it in 1919, in Tokyo, in Japan. They were the first to have a pentaprism and also the response mirror setup. In a 1960’s campaign, the slogan said: “just hold the Pentax”. That was their strategy.

Market Capture
In 2005, the corporation partnered with Samsung Techwin in order to offer more features and go head to head with market leaders Canon and Nikion. They came with the *istDL2 and *istDS2 models.

The Products
Pentax Corporation manufactured the cameras. During the 1960′s-70 the cameras were compact and functional. They had smooth controls for operating them, with a nice design, clean and simple. There were no fancy features just the basics that worked really well. The idea was to give the user the best features and to do it in a simple way. The strategy paid off and the market share began to get bigger and bigger. Then the cameras ranged from the tiny models of point and shoot to full features SLRs. Some of the most recent models include: Pentax K20D, Optio W60, Pentax K200D and also Pentax K10D.

The model called Pentax K20D digital is a follower for the K10D model. And then the K20D camera has 14.6-megapixel and also comes with the great sensor CMOS. The Pentax K20D has great dust-reduction features due to an interesting sensor that vibrates and removes the dust particles. Also, Pentax has also came up with the interesting “dust alert” feature. This functionality allows you to know when there is too much dust. The sensor then helps you take care of those nasty particles that can ruin your picture if they are not well taken care of.
